HC Deb 17 May 1972 vol 837 c147W
Mr. Gwynoro Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his policy with regard to an additional national park in Wales.

Mr. Peter Thomas

It is for the Countryside Commission in the first place to decide whether it wishes to designate a National Park.

If such a designation were made and resulted in objections or representations, then a public inquiry would be held and I should afterwards decide whether or not to confirm the designation in the light of all the circumstances.
