§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will take general action to ensure that in any discussions with the European Economic Community, including those at the current meeting, pending Great Britain's entry into the Community, no agreement or proposal shall become operative until it has been reported to and received the assent of Parliament.
§ Mr. RipponNo. The rôle of Parliament in relation to any agreement or proposal must continue to depend upon the nature of the agreement or proposal in question.
