§ Mr. Masonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will ascertain from the Civil Aviation Authority details of the reported air misses that took place over London stacking points recently, particularly the extent to which air traffic controllers are becoming subject to human error under stress and increased workload, and of whether the layout of aircraft stacking is proving satisfactory.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineApart from those incidents where the particular circumstances appear to call for action by the Chief Inspector of Accidents, the investigation of airmiss reports and any deductions to be drawn from them are matters for the Civil Aviation Authority. The Authority has issued a statement on the reports to which the right hon. Member refers. I shall of course continue to take a close interest in such matters.
