§ 46. Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many public authority houses were started in the first quarter of 1972; and what were the comparable figures for each of the last five years.
§ Mr. Younger:A total of 4,643 houses were started by local authorities, new town corporations and the Scottish Special Housing Association in the first quarter of 1972. This reverses the downward trend since 1967. For the first quarters of the years 1967 to 1971 the numbers were 8,304, 7,130, 6,242, 5,648 and 4,413.
