§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, in order to maintain environment standards and make use of municipal and industrial waste, whether he will assess the feasibility of a process developed by Osaka City Institute of Hygiene, details of which have been supplied to him, under which plastic waste is convertible into natural gas and petrochemical feedstock; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Eldon Griffiths:The Government laboratory at Warren Spring is examining processes of this type. Their viability depends largely on whether the waste can readily be made available in a suitable form and adequate quantity, and whether there is a market at an economic price for the material reclaimed.
