HC Deb 02 May 1972 vol 836 c73W
45. Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Employment for the latest month for which figures are available, how many persons had been unemployed for more than a year; and of these how many were not in receipt of supplementary benefit.

Mr. Chichester-Clark:

At 10th January, the latest date for which information is available, 141,973 wholly unemployed people had been registered for more than 52 weeks. I regret that information about the numbers of these who were not in receipt of supplementary benefit is not available.
