§ Mr. Harold Wilsonasked the Prime Minister whether, following the recent trial of Mr. L. M. Hinchliffe under the Official Secrets Acts, he will consult the 41W chairman of the Security Commission under the procedure announced to the House on 26th March, 1969.
§ The Prime Minister:Yes. I propose, in accordance with that procedure, to ask the Chairman of the Security Commission to examine a factual statement and give his opinion whether an investigation by the Security Commission would be likely to serve a useful purpose. When I have received his advice I will consult the right hon. Gentleman the Leader of the Opposition before deciding whether to refer the matter to the Commission.
