Mr. Eyre:

My right hon. Friend has received representations from the Federation of Master Builders, the National Federation of Building Trades Employers, the Association of Municipal Corporations, the Urban District Councils' Association and the Rural District Councils' Association.

In a reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Rossendale (Mr. Bray) on 21st April, 1972, my right hon. Friend announced that the Government have decided to introduce legislation at the appropriate time to extend by a year to 23rd June, 1974, the date before which works must be completed in order to qualify for the higher rates of grant under the Housing Act, 1971.
