asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the statutory provisions which relate to periodic surveys of their areas by local authorities.

The information asked for is as follows:

Section 91 of the Housing Act, 1957, and Section 70 of the Housing Act, 1969—periodical review of housing conditions.

Section 6 and Schedules 4 and 5 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1971—survey for development plan purposes.

Section 27 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, 1949—survey of public rights of way.

Section 14 of the Water Resources Act, 1963—survey by river authorities of water resources.
