§ Mr. DeanThe survey carried out by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys in September, 1971, covered by about 300 low-income families and included both families receiving and not receiving family income supplement. It did not therefore contain a sufficiently large sample to provide the income breakdown requested by the hon. Member. The following information is based on statistical tables compiled by my Department from a sample of awards made up to the end of October, 1971.
