HC Deb 23 March 1972 vol 833 c361W
Mr. Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will place in the Library for the confidential use of Members details of the contracts awarded for the disposal of waste paper in the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

I have been asked to reply.

In the Palace of Westminster confidential waste is destroyed on the premises by D.O.E. personnel under the supervision of House authorities. Non-confidential waste paper is disposed of by Her Majesty's Stationery Office under normal contractual arrangements. Details of these contracts are never disclosed for commercial reasons.
