§ Mr. Michael Cocksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from individuals and organisations requesting him to introduce amending legislation to exempt from compulsory passenger insurance mopeds, whether or not adapted to carry passengers or persons other than the driver; and what reply he has sent.
§ Mr. PeytonI have had about 40 letters from individuals, mainly through hon. Members, about various aspects of passenger insurance for mopeds. In reply, I have pointed out that there was very full consideration and debate on this and related issues when the relevant legislation was before Parliament, and that there is no evidence to suggest that the decisions then taken were wrong.
