§ Mr. David Mitchellasked the Minister of State for Defence what is the number of men and women the Services require to recruit to bring them up to their full strength, as at the most recent convenient date.
§ Mr. KirkOn 1st April, 1972, the overall strength of the Navy and Army will be virtually in line with requirements, and the R.A.F. will have some surplus. However, within these total numbers, there are still shortages in some branches and trades, and some shortages of officers in the Army and Navy.
