HL Deb 16 March 1972 vol 329 c582WA
LORD RAGLAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When, at the present rate of reconstruction, it is expected that the whole width of the Severn and Wye Bridges will be open to traffic.

LORD SANDFORD

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment expects to receive proposals for the strengthening of Aust and Wye viaducts and Wye bridge at the end of April. Until these have been agreed it is not possible to say how long the work will take to complete. Consideration is being given to interim measures which might be taken to speed up the flow of traffic on these bridges.

House adjourned at twenty-six minutes before seven o'clock.
