§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what payments are made by surgeons for the use of National Health facilities and staff when performing operations on private patients.
§ Mr. AlisonIn accordance with Sections 1 and 2 of the Health Services and Public Health Act, 1968, the private patient pays for the use of these facilities through the hospital charges which are designed to cover the full cost of the accommodation and services, including the services of National Health Service staff, made available. No charge is payable by the surgeon.
