7. Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in order to help control inflation and to encourage the moderation of wage claims, he will introduce further legislation to allow rent increases in both the private and public sector coming into effect on or after 1st April, 1972, to be offset against income tax in the form of special tax allowances.
