§ Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the continued detention of Mr. Michael Capel, of Stanmore, Middlesex, in Hammamet, Tunisia, following the details which were furnished to him on 10th February by the hon. Member for Harrow, East.
§ Mr. KershawMr. Capel was detained on 3rd February in connection with the injury of a Tunisian. After two short hearings the court handling his case adjourned to await a medical report assessing the degree of permanent injury sustained by the Tunisian. This is due very soon. The embassy is in close touch with Mr. Capel and his lawyer.
