§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how he proposes to protect the interests of the United Kingdom bacon industry and contracting bacon pig producers with effect from 1st January, 1973.
§ Mr. PriorThe detailed arrangements for bacon in an enlarged Community are a matter which we shall be discussing with the European Commission and our prospective Community partners during 183W the course of this year. The Community has, however, already recognised during the negotiations about our entry, the benefits that a stable bacon market in this country would bring to pig production throughout the enlarged Community.
