§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Lord President of the Council whether he will place before the Services Committee a proposal to stop the issuing of notices of time and date of Standing Committees to Members of Parliament, in view of the sitting of Standing Committee E on Monday, 28th February when notices of the Standing Committee had not been despatched to Members in time for the meeting.
§ Mr. WhitelawNotices are sent to Members of Standing Committees of the time and date of the next meeting as soon as they are known. Normally notices are sent out not later than Thursday morning for meetings in the following week. In the case mentioned by the hon. Member, 107W the decision to sit on Monday, 28th February, was taken at 5.40 a.m. on Friday, 25th February, and notices were sent out on the same day.
