asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many travellers used the West London Air Terminal on their way to and from Heathrow Airport during the first year in which it was in operation and how many travellers used the same terminal for the same purposes in the last twelve months; and also how many staff were employed at the West London Air Terminal handling passengers and baggage to and from Heathrow during its first year of operation and how many are employed there to-day.

West London Air Terminal was opened in 1964. In 1965, the first full year for which B.E.A. have figures available, the total number using the terminal was 3,019,476 and in 1971 3,507,368. Of these figures, the numbers using check-in facilities were 1,303,274 and 1,389,943 respectively. 368 staff were employed in 1965 and 410 in 1971.
