HC Deb 29 June 1972 vol 839 c406W
Captain W. Elliot

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he can now state where the proposed European Patent Office will be sited.

Mr. John Davies

It was agreed by a unanimous vote, save for ourselves and one other country who abstained, that the office should be at Munich.

Agreement was however reached that the European Patent Office could arrange with the United Kingdom Patent Office that a substantial proportion of applications for European patents would be dealt with at the United Kingdom office over the ensuing 15 years.
