§ Mr. Strangasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the latest estimate of the number of jobs which have been lost in Scotland since June, 1970.
§ Mr. Dudley SmithPrecise information is not available about job gains and job losses, but an indication of the net change can be obtained by comparing levels of employment at different dates. Between June, 1970, and September, 1971, the latest date for which provisional estimates are available, the number of employees in employment in Scotland decreased by 33,000.
