§ Mr. NottThe gross amount of taxation paid to public authorities in 1971, as recorded for national accounts purposes, was £20,143 million. This includes all taxes on income, expenditure 203W and capital, together with national insurance contributions, national health contributions and Redundancy Fund contributions. It represents 42.4 per cent, of gross domestic product at factor cost.
