§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkThe report confirms that if pay settlements are made at excessive levels prices are bound to increase at unacceptable levels. The current series of talks with the TUC and CBI which cover a wide range of economic issues will indicate the prospects for any new approach to securing moderation in pay settlements.
