§ Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will make a report on the progress of the efforts by his staff in Portsmouth to find new jobs for workers made redundant by the closure of Guards Wholesale Clothing Manufacturing Factory at Fratton.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkArrangements were made for a "job team" from my Department to visit the factory on 14th, 15th, 19th and 20th June, 1972, to help those becoming redundant to obtain alternative employment. The majority of the workers involved are female clothing machinists, and I understand that there is a large demand for this type of labour in the area.
