§ 35. Mr. Roseasked the Attorney-General how many cases have been brought before the courts against defendants accused of photographing witnesses entering the precincts of a court of law; and whether he will make a statement concerning public policy in this regard.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI am informed that there have been no prosecutions for this offence since 1966. The purpose of the Section which created the offence was to prevent any interference with parties or witnesses which might affect the administration of justice. It is for the prosecuting authorities to consider whether there should be proceedings in any specific case.
