Mr. Edward Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the High Court judgment, to which he was a party, on the intake to Glasgow's selective schools and in particular on the time limit on applications for admission to the schools in session 1972–73, imposed by the judgment.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellI am advised that in view of the terms of the Court of Session's interlocutor in the petition of the Lord Advocate, any parent in the Glasgow area who desires his child to be considered for admission to one of the schools in question and who has not already made an application should make application to the head teacher by not later than Wednesday, 21st June. I am grateful to my hon. Friend for drawing attention to this. I hope that the education authority, too, will bring this to parents' attention.
