§ 33. Mr. Duffyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will seek to adjust social security benefits so that the standard of living of the least privileged keeps pace with the change in average standards.
§ Sir K. JosephI announced last December that supplementary benefits and other social security benefits will be reviewed annually and increased so as at least to maintain their purchasing power. This year's uprating should provide a real improvement in benefits.—[Vol. 828, c. 852–9.]
