§ Mr. Peter Archerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he has received a report consequent on the official investigation into certain allegations in the report of Amnesty International announced by the Secretary of State for the Home Department on 23rd March.
§ Mr, David HowellAllegations were made in respect of 30 cases, and 11 of these are the subject of civil proceedings; investigations into these cases have been suspended pending the outcome of the relevant court actions. A further five cases were fully examined by Sir Edmund Compton last year. Investigations into the remaining cases are proceeding and my right hon. Friend has asked to be supplied with reports as soon as they are available.
