§ 40. Mr. Edwin Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is aware that the Wath-upon-Dearne town centre programme is in danger of being delayed because of the need for the town bypass road to be built; and taking into consideration the unemployment that exists in this area, if he will take steps to ensure that the building of this bypass road commences as soon as possible.
§ Mr. SpeedMy right hon. Friend has already put into the principal road preparation list schemes for roads which would by-pass Wath-upon-Dearne. It 85W is now the responsibility of the local highway authority to submit to my right hon. Friend a proposal for the inclusion of one of these schemes in the principal roads programme.
