§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment to what extent, on Great Britain's entry into the Common Market, road vehicles will have to be fitted with tachographs as from January, 1976, so far as new vehicles are concerned; to what extent the introduction of these tachographs has been agreed to by the trade unions; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PeytonFrom 1st January, 1976, tachographs must be fitted to new goods vehicles of over 3.5 metric tons gross weight and new passenger vehicles with more than eight seats not engaged on regular services. I have had some discussions with the trade unions about this requirement.
