asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the progress being made in the development of Turnhouse Airport, Edinburgh.

Any major development of Edinburgh Airport must await the outcome of the public inquiry on the BAA's planning application. The reporter is in the process of preparing his report.
