§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe reasons why the tax year starts on 6th April—not 5th April—are historical. I will be glad to send my hon. Friend an account of the matter. It is, I must warn him, somewhat involved.
My right hon. Friend has at present no proposals to change the date of the tax year.
