HC Deb 24 July 1972 vol 841 c222W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Attorney-General what is the average waiting time for cases to be heard before the Lands Tribunal.

The Attorney-General

Twenty-nine weeks. That figure, which is taken from the cases heard in the first six months of this year, relates to the period between the date when the case was ready for hearing and the date appointed for the hearing. Over the next six months that period is likely to be much the same.

Mr. McCrindle

asked the Attorney-General what has been the number of cases heard by the Lands Tribunal where the compensation on compulsory purchase has been increased.

The Attorney-General

Sixteen compulsory purchase cases were heard in the first six months of this year, in two of which the decision is still awaited. The Tribunal's award was higher than the acquiring authority's offer in seven of the cases so far decided.
