asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give a breakdown of those employed, and unemployed, in Huddersfield in engineering, textiles and chemical works at the latest available date.

The latest employment estimates at present available for Huddersfield are for June, 1970. The following table shows the numbers employed and unemployed at that date, and the numbers unemployed at June, 1972:

facturing in the first five months of this year are 95 stoppages and 678,000 working days lost. These figures represent decreases of 10 per cent. and 70 per cent, respectively, compared with the corresponding period in 1971.
