HC Deb 19 July 1972 vol 841 c121W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much Government financial assistance has been granted to date to the Aviemore Centre.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

Assistance from Government sources for the Aviemore Centre and other tourist developments associated with it, including hotels, amounts so far to £805,568.

The payments have been made at various dates since February, 1965, mainly from the Board of Trade—now the Department of Trade and Industry—with a considerable element from the Scottish Tourist Board, and a smaller sum from the Highlands and Islands Development Board. Further payments will fall due for some time ahead under existing commitments.
