Mr. James Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is to be the future use of the mother ship "Miranda"; and whether he will order a new purpose-built vessel for the British deep sea fishing fleet in the North-East Atlantic on the lines of the West German vessel "Fridthof".
§ Mr. NobleIts primary use is expected to continue to be the provision of support services for British fishing trawlers. As "Miranda" still has an expected serviceable life of several years, no decision has yet been taken on its replacement.
