§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Attorney-General whether he is now able to give the actual costs involved in legal fees to his Department in attempting to obtain repayment from Mr. Leonard J. Crickmar of his repatriation debt of £169.08; what award of costs has been assessed to his Department; and what action he has taken or intends taking to obtain payment of these two amounts.
§ The Attorney-GeneralThe costs to the Treasury Solicitor's Department in relation to this case are approximately £200. The court has ordered Mr. Crickmar to pay the Department £122.85 in costs. Mr. Crickmar has indicated his willingness to pay the costs due, together with the judgement debt. It is hoped to agree with him a rate for the payment, and if this does not prove possible, an application will be made to the court to make an order at a rate appropriate to his means.
