§ Mr. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will publish in the Official Report a table indicating, respectively, the number of housing submissions by each local authority to meet the 1st December, 1971 deadline; how many of these submissions have now been approved and for what local authorities; and how many have still to be approved, indicating also the name of the local authorities involved;
(2) how many housing submissions have been submitted for approval by Scottish local authorities in the period 1st January to 30th June, 1972.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellAt the beginning of December, 1971, 503 proposals (covering 27,704 houses) submitted by local authorities were with me for approval. Most had been submitted shortly before 1st December. It is not possible to say how many of these submissions had been made in the normal course, and how many specifically to meet the 1st December deadline.
By 7th July, 1972, all but 28 proposals, for 3,463 houses, had been approved. Details, together with New Town and SSHA proposals, are given in the following table.
From 1st January to 30th June, 1972, 35 proposals (492 houses) were submitted by local authorities. In addition, three proposals (429 houses) were submitted by new town development corporations and 19 proposals (707 houses) by local authorities in respect of housing association schemes.
