HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 cc185-6W
15. Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will provide funds for staffing information centres in respect of citizens' social and economic rights in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Channon

Under the Social Need (Grants) Act (Northern Ireland), 1970, the Ministry of Community Relations can offer grants in socially deprived urban areas towards the cost of establishing and running advice centres such as citizens' advice bureaux and redevelop- ment associations which aim to provide independent social and economic advice to citizens. The normal rate of grant is 75 per cent.
