Mr. Woodhouse asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action Her Majesty's Government has taken in pursuance of Recommendation 602 of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on Greeks living in exile, with particular regard to the plight of students; and what further action he plans to take.
§ Mr. Anthony RoyleI told the House on 17th July,1970 in answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Plymouth, Devonport (Dame Joan Vickers) that we were already, as part of our normal policy towards citizens of foreign countries, putting into effect a number of proposals in this recommendation. As regards the particular question of students, I can assure my hon. Friend that careful consideration is, and will continue to be, given to application for grants from Greek students.—[Vol. 803, c. 291–2.]
