Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will give the salaries of the six staff in his Department who will receive salary increases of 18 per cent. on the implementation of the Boyle Report; and what they will be on application of the Boyle proposals.

Mr. David Howell

One Permanent Secretary will have his salary increased from £14,000 to £15,750; two Deputy Secretaries will have their salaries increased from £9,000 to £10,500; and three Under-Secretaries will have their salaries increased from £6,750 to £8,250.
