HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 c198W
Mr. Edward Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if the components of the Concorde aircraft produced in Great Britain are designed and manufactured in imperial or metric units of measurement.

Mr. Onslow

All Concorde components are designed to both imperial and metric standards.

Most of the Concorde components produced in Great Britain are manufactured in imperial units of measurement. There are, however, certain areas, for example electrical equipment, where component manufacture is traditionally in metric units.
