HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 cc217-8W
Mr. Joel Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the case, brought to his attention by the hon. Member for Hey- wood and Royton, concerning the 100 per cent. disabled war pensioner who has been unable to get a shower installed in his bathroom because seven or eight firms have refused to tender for the job because of the delays in obtaining their money from his Department.

Mr. Alison

A tender for the installation of a shower for this war pensioner has been accepted and early completion of the work will be sought. There is no evidence of delay in payment of accounts for work of this nature.
