Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, as a means of assisting the essential public services engaged in saving life and limb, he will issue an appeal to all road users to give way and facilitate the passage of vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines so that they have the right of way at all times, whether or not such vehicles are known to be engaged on life saving, so as to expedite their travel to and from their depots.
