§ Mr. J. H. Osbornasked the Seretary of State for Education and Science what steps she will take to ensure all property owners are given fair and adequate compensation as a result of the Broomhall Church of England Schools Compulsory Purchase Order as authorised in the letter to the hon. Member for Sheffield, Hallam, of 28th June, 1972; and whether she will take steps to ensure that owner-occupiers 174W are not forced to become council tenants as a result of this.
Mr. van StraubeneeCompensation will be paid in accordance with the compensation code. In the event of a dispute there is provision for the amount to be determined by the Lands Tribunal; my right hon. Friend has no power to intervene. Whilst the Sheffield Corporation have stated that they are prepared to re-house persons affected by the order, it will be open to owner-occupiers to make their own arrangements to buy another house if they prefer to do so.
