§ The Attorney-GeneralNo. The Official Solicitor is an Officer of the Supreme Court, and does not act on the instructions from other individuals in relation to particular cases. His general instructions from the Lord Chancellor enable him to act on his own initiative where the interests of an individual concerned in legal proceedings require special protection.
