71. Mr. Joel Barnett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will review the position of workers who temporarily cease employment to look after a dying patient, in a situation similar to that which applied to a constituent of the hon. Member for Heywood and Royton, the details of which have been sent to him, whereby there would either be a loss of benefit of arrears of National Insurance contributions would have to be made; and if he will make a statement.
