§ 76. Mr. Brocklebank-Fowlerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps he is taking to co-ordinate the work of various agricultural organisations concerned with the export of livestock and agricultural produce, with particular regard to the need to identify new markets when Great Britain joins the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. Peter MillsMy right hon. Friend fully recognises that the enlargement of the European Economic Community will present our producers with new export possibilities and opportunities, and the desirability of those in this field working in close co-operation. It is, however, essentially for them to organise themselves and arrange their efforts in the way they think best to take the maximum advantage of the opportunities offered. My right hon. Friend and his colleagues keep in touch with those most closely concerned and naturally do what they can to encourage co-operation and collaboration between them in their export activities.
As regards the identification of new markets when we join the European Economic Community, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave 90W to my hon. Friend the Member for Bodmin (Mr. Hicks) on 20th June.—[Vol. 839, c. 222–23.]
