Mr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what is the maximum weight permitted for lorries in each of the European Economic Community member and candidate countries, showing how these figures differ from that for the United Kingdom;

(2) what is the maximum length permitted for lorries in the United Kingdom; and what are the comparable figures for each of the European Economic Community and European Free Trade Association countries.
